Welcome to Coralia
Coralia, the concert choir of the University of Puerto Rico, was founded by Professor Carmen Acevedo Lucío in 1982. Coralia is composed of experienced students and alumni and specializes in challenging choral works. Its repertoire covers polyphonic music from all periods and folklore from Latin America and Puerto Rico.
Professionally, they have performed with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Casals International Festival of Puerto Rico, and under the baton of world-famed conductors such as Margaret Hillis, Krzysztof Penderecki, Helmuth Rilling, Odón Alonso, Eugene Cohn, Guillermo Figueroa and Gustavo Dudamel. The members of Coralia have participated in several concerts sharing the stage with international stars of Bel Canto repertoire such as Ben Hepner, Denyce Graves, Juan Diego Flores, Roberto Alagna, Angela Georghiu, and Cynthia Laurence, among others.
